project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
This project all started because i was bored and wanted something todo. The truck i started this project with was stolen (it was found, and just my luck it had been completely stripped). So the only option i had now was to get another one. So that brings me to the truck you see today.
Attempted to fabrcate custom mirrors.... that went completely wrong. bought Street Scene mirrors. Grant GT steering wheel removed molding |

Didn't like how it was turning out. So i scratched that idea. Made a L/P frame instead. |

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
Added some side strenght to the L/P frame and painted it white. Needed to get it inspected and the exhaust pipes were rusted with holes. Had to come up with something. |

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
sanded and wire brushed
Cleaned the carpet One day i'm sitting around the house and the ole lady calls. She says the truck is making a funny noise. I get to the gas station and go to start it up. Sounds like someone is hitting the block with a hammer. Sooo..this starts the motor swap. |

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
Out with the old, in with the .......Well old. Remember this is supposed to be a fun project. Buying a new motor isn't fun. So i went the junkyard special way for now.
Almost back together On 90'-95' the acc brackets are different than a 88'-89'. This A/C compressor won't work. A/C Delete Basicly finished with the motor swap in this pic. |

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
Yea, for the most part, its been fun so far. ......All of this has already been done. I'm just touching on the high lights now. I'm working with dile-up and kept loosing conection yesterday. Thats why i stopped in the middle of the build. At the moment the truck is parked for the winter, but im fixing to get started again. Thats why i started this build thread.

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
Right now, i just have a cheap tire compressor. Cheapest one Walmart had. I'm running manual valves, 1/4" line, with DOT compression fittings.
This is temporary for the front. When i install the rear, I'm gonna put the valves into the driver side door panel. This is some of the junk waiting to go into the rear. |

Re: project "GOT BORED" 1988 1500 sportside
Forgot to say i have a 9 port 5gl tank behind the seat. It will get installed under the bed. I kinda jumped the gun on the install. I wanted to see it dropped. I should have just waited till i had all the parts. All this temporary install sure makes a weak looking build thread.
