how do you go about installing the pump itself since the frame doesn't have a notch out for the hump? Thanks

Use a big hammer or a smaller hammer and a torch.

I did the heat and hammer it method on my 67. I had the torch & didnt want to buy any parts to do the job & it worked well. Roughly look at how much you'll need to indent, roughly mark it out & start heating/hammering.

I know it's not stock, but I used the brackets for a full size van. The PS pump is mounted low and inside the frame, with no clearance issues.

Funny thing, alot of people just know if it's on the driver's side it's original, pass side isn't. Well, I guess mine is GM original, but not c-10 original!

I did it years ago when it was still my DD. I did it with everything on the truck, that's the main reason I used the van brackets- no modifications needed. it was hard enough to reach in the engine compartment, and up/under the inner wheelwell.
Right now it's stripped to the frame, and when it goes back together, it'll have R&P(those pics were from the teardown, that's why it looks so 'open'

I imagine you are talking about Power Steering right? integral PS?
you are talking about the pump right?, not the steering gear?

The steering gear does require the frame to be 'shaped' to take the gear if you have a 67-68 frame. There are a few vendors on the board who sell adapters to bolt the gear on without hacking/banging on the frame.

sorry i said pump but meant box. i think i'm just gonna get the spacer bracket since i don't have a torch or a garage. i get to work on it in the gravel driveway until i can get a garage built. sorry for the confusion mordachai. cant i use the same pump as i did on my old hydraulic assist setup? or do i gotta upgrade that too?

I just found some thick steel washer's to use for spacer's on mine , I did not want to take a torch or a hammer to my frame , mine work's perfect ,

I remember someone posting pic's of a nice looking spacer bracket that was sort of half moon shaped ? anybody got that pic handy ?
