I Need A 5-Blade fan
I need some suggestions for a 5-blade OEM type fan (non-clutch) for my D/D.
I have the standard 4 blade, but I need more air. I know that aftermarket fan are out there, but I would like a "staggered type" fan. I have heard that the "flex-fans" are noisy and the staggered type are much less noisy. What make and model fan should I look for, that will still fit inside my shroud? |

Re: I Need A 5-Blade fan
While you're waiting for an answer, I gotta ask -- why not go with a clutch fan? They were OEM on A/C trucks, look great (IMO) and nothing cools better. I wouldn't trade my original 7-blade for anything. It's quiet unless it's needed...... and then it soon goes quiet again.
Just curious......

Re: I Need A 5-Blade fan
my choice would be a fan clutch, there quieter , takes less horse power to pull, save gas....pulls more air when needed....and would fit your fan shroud , if you get the right size fan...and most of the time , they hurt less than an old straight drive fan when you put your fingers in them....but that's my choice...

Re: I Need A 5-Blade fan
I have a 5 blade with clutch in my 69 with A/C and HD cooling. That's the way it came from the factory along with the normal SBC fan shroud.
