New 72 gas tank
I am having rust issues in my gas tank. I know radiator shops can clean and seal them but at this point I am thinking of just ordering a new.
Has anyone used the 72 version E.E.C tank? If so are you happy with it? Do they come with the smaller neck like the originals, does the original gas cap fit the new tanks? Thanks in advance for any information, Ray

Re: New 72 gas tank
I just purchased an original location (in cag) Summit Racing tank, sending unit, plastic float along with new classic tube stainless lines from the tank to carb. All the lines fit beautifully in original locations. The tank was beat up pretty bad by the shipping company so I had to dolly work the flanges and a couple dents in the middle to work out. Other than that it fit well.....but did have to cut off my original filler neck (72) and graft it on the new one....after that, no problem.

Re: New 72 gas tank
LMC sells both the 72 EEC equipped tanks and the 71 & earlier non EEC tanks. In the product description it specifies both neck sizes too.
Pull up LMC online catalog and have a look. I recently bought a non EEC tank from LMC. I am happy with the look and fit.
