Busted seat belt bolts!
So I'm now working on the interior of my truck an the previous owner removed everything including seat belts but as they did it they busted 2 of the bolts in the floor (drivers side belt, and pass side buckle).... I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to get them out without having to get the drill n tap/die set out??... I've already tried putting visegrips on the bottom an tried to spin them out that way with no luck... Is there another spot that I could mount the belts without having issues?
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks |

Could try a good extractor on them after soaking. But chances are you have screwed them up on the bottom side with the vice grip stunt.
Get the drill out and just get it done.

If they wouldn't come out without breaking off they won't come out. Mine all broke off too. You can try to drill them put but they are hard, go slow, use oil, have lots of bits ready. I cut my losses and ground the nuts off and welded new ones on.

Try welding a bolt onto the busted part. I've done this at work a lot on broken exhaust bolts in heads. Since u tried to vice grip the bottom those threads are screwed weld that side. Grind the top in the ca flush. The heat will weaken the bolt.

I would try some heat from a torch. (Be careful not to catch anything on fire)

Grinding them off wasn't easy either, but I was able to get them with an angle grinder and a cutoff wheel.

Well thanks for the tips guys I was able to get the old ones off... I Donno why I didn't think of it when I was trying to figure out what I was gonna do but I cut them off an put new ones in.....
