hydroboost

Hay,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this question, so I guess I'll find out. Has anyone hooked up thier trucks with a hydroboost brake setup? I'm thinking of switching over to one becuase I hear they work better when vacuum is low. Any comments?

Re: hydroboost

I put a hydroboost on my '83 C10 that was robbed off a 86ish C30. HUGE difference in the braking, just stay away from the crappy parts chain rebuilt ones, poney up the extra money and get one from GM. You might also have to switch out the master cylinder, and be sure to steal the lines off the donor as well. There are some companies out there that do nothing but hydroboost set ups but my thought is, save money and use the factory stuff.

Re: hydroboost

any ??? feel free to ask... i spent 100.00 including the hydro unit from a junk yard i just check if any visible leaks... by bracket inside i mean pedal rod not the pedal assembly... you will use the original pedal assembly from your truck and the outside mounting from the donor... i will get sum pics today post them on monday ((sorry no internet at home))

Re: hydroboost

I stole mine off a 86 chevy four door p/u... get the bracket that it has inside and out, power steering lines, master cylinder and rod... the rod from the hydro boost will need to be modd cuz the hole is a diffrent size dont remember if smaller or larger... i just cut the one from the vac boost off and installed the hydro messured removed and welded... a bit more work but what the hell i had nothing to do that wk end...
