Need upper moulding repair tips please.

I did some searching on here but came up with not much. What are you guys doing to repair the narrow upper bed mouldings? I have an upper for my longhorn that got bent almost in half by my brother and I want to try to repair it without ruining it. Today I bent it around until it was almost straight and left it. Are you using someting as wide as the grooves and straightening it by hand? Or use a rubber mallet and a small like body dollie? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ryan.

Re: Need upper moulding repair tips please.

I had all of my side trim restored by these cats: http://www.kingoftrim.com/

My nasty dull, ripped, bent, and dented trim came back like new.

Money well spent!

Re: Need upper moulding repair tips please.

I'm guessing with shipping and the service, it can't be cheap.

Re: Need upper moulding repair tips please.

Sorry, I was traveling for work and didn't have access to the internet...

I don't remember exactly how much it was, but I can tell you that I was suprised at how cheap it was. I'm thinking it was a couple hundred bucks to do all of the side trim on my burb, that included repairs and reanodizing of the parts. They do not paint, so you will have to paint anything that originally had it. As for the 67/68 trim there is a narrow black stripe, and I just taped up and sprayed the black stripe myself. No biggie...

The shop is basically a bunch of guys sitting at anvils of all sizes, hammering on all types of metal trim. You'd think that with all of the hand work, and time spent by the guy working on this stuff that it would be super expensive. But like I said it was cheaper than I thought, and was happy to write the check for all of my trim to look like new again. The only thing they don't garantee is, where if there were any holes that had to be welded up that the weld does not look at shiney as the rest. But, I can tell you that if I didn't point it out to you, you will not even notice it being a repair. (It looks like a water spot to me).

EDIT: I just looked at their website, and noticed that they do some painting. Maybe something they are now doing since I used them, since when I used their services they were just getting started up in the business.
