What are
The little slider things on the back side of the door latch plates? I was cleaning my latch plates for my 70 short and saw them and wondered their purpose.

No not the shims, I'm talking about the little sliding blocks on the back side of the latch plate.

I believe they help push down the door latch so it contacts the teeth on the bottom correctly.

the reinforcement plates behind the striker plate mounted to the cab? they take the grunt of the door slams so the sheet metal doesn't get fatigued. I think that's what you're talking about
