Jacking up truck points
I know I have seen a post about this but.. I have never had to change or remove the tires on the 68. The rims are getting a bit of surface rust and I want to take the wheels off and shine them up again without having to bust my knuckles/finger tips on the lugs. What are the safest places to lift the truck from with a "Man Killer" as my grampa calls them.
I know it's a question.. thanks

theres a reason why they're called "bumper jacks"

Re: Jacking up truck points
I agree with that and it applies to the back bumper fine. But the front bumpuer is no square and it makes the "bumper lift" start to lean forward and press against the hood.

Re: Jacking up truck points
Toss them far away and buy a floor jack. Get three the first time with some railroad tie cut offs and be done with it.

Re: Jacking up truck points
You dont sound like the kind of guy that needs access to a high lift jack. No offense...buy a decent floor jack AND use jack stands.

Re: Jacking up truck points
None taken. Thats what came with the truck. So I just assumed thats what I needed to use. I have a few floor jacks and stands. I'll give them a try.
thanks.

Re: Jacking up truck points
My manual shows the correct jack locations for the FLOOR JACK are ,front; under the lower control arm shaft.Rear;under the axle just inboard on the wheel.
