Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Eric,

I will see what else I have. I know I have multiples of most all cab pieces and some long bed pieces. There is more wood grain that I haven't sorted yet, and lots of the narrow trim too.

I'll post all trim pieces in this thread.

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Tailgate band pics:

Has plastic letters with a little bit of wear. This is the worst one:

Also, I may have the shortbed wood grain trim pieces. I found one short bed piece for the rt side in front of the rr wheel. Haven't found the left yet. Will someone tell me if the trim behind the rear wheel is the same on short and long?

Thanks!

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Mark,

I have multiples of many pieces in varying condition NOS (sealed, open w/ hardware, no packaging or hardware). What else do you need?

Do you know the part numbers for the short bed pieces?

Thanks!

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

I think I just needed that pass side front bed piece but I am working tonight til 06:00 so my books are at home. I can look them up for you in the morning if someone doesn't pipe in with them. Otherwise I'll take the NOS 73-76 chevy bowtie wheelcover set for $200 and if you want to price the moulding in a pm. Thanks, Mark

Question Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

I know that feeling!

I have a question for you guys. I have several pieces that appear the same, but have different part numbers on them.

Example -
3955302 appears to be right front bed moulding loose and hand written part number
3997444 right front bed moulding in sealed package w/ GM number stamped on it

Which one is correct? Are the both correct but one was superceded? Are they different pieces that look the same?

Yes, I believe 3997444 superceds the other. You might want to use this link for future part references. It is a great database for GM parts.

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Newbraunie- I somehow missed your post regarding the plastic letters. I don't know the answer to your question. All I know is that I have only found NOS and used OEM parts in this collection, no reproduction parts whatsoever. I also know this collection of parts has not been touched in nearly 20yrs. The tailgate band matches side by side with the NOS woodgrain trim.

70LonghornCST- thank you very much for your assistance. I will give that site a shot!

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Jeff My GM book is printed in sept 1972 and I also have the last print in 79 and I can not see that hand written # 3955302. The CST Blazer used #3997457 for the RH frt wdg and of course the different wb all were different. That 3997440 is the correct one for the RH frt box piece on the 115" wb. I would like to buy that one to complete my 71. If that other moulding laid out is the same length point to point it would be the same moulding of course for the RH side also. I also would like the two short upper top pieces of side trim # 3953885 and 3953886 if yo have those. If you need any help with part numbers shoot me a list and I'll check them out. Let me know on the mouldings with that wheel cover set and I'll get you paid. Thanks, Mark

The 3997444 is a long box RH front 127" wheelbase.

Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

Jeff, you mention that the tailgate band has plastic letters? I checked the original one currently on my truck and it has metal letters. I do not have much experience with these but it seems it should have metal letters like OEM.

Anyone have any info on the letters on these tailgate bands?

Here are the lower woodgrain mouldings for LWB w/toolbox that I am looking for:
part #3977352 Rear of box
part #3977590 Box door
part #3977510 Front of box

I may be mistaken, but from what I have gathered, GM made some of their OEM replacement stock (and maybe all stock after a certain year?) using the plastic letter alternative. Moreover, I also know that there are two versions of the plastic replacement letters. One is chromed plastic letters, while the other is a silver-painted plastic letters. I have one in the GM package (not for sale) that has silver-painted plastic letters. I hope this helps some.

Exclamation Re: 1969-72 NOS Woodgrain trim set

I made a mistake about the complete set. The left front bed piece is not in a package, but I do have hardware.

I have counted and identified all of the wood grain mouldings that I have.

All are posted here:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?...=1&output=html

It has become difficult to keep track of the many threads and PMs. Please email me at jsd4548@hotmail.com with any orders or questions.

Thanks!
