6 cyl offset air cleaner
This is from a '72 250 6 cyl. with power brakes. It is in excellent condition, only needs paint. Complete with spacer, support rod and long bolt that goes in the support.

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
Do you have the snorkel and the carb mounting stud?

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
This is for a single barrel, yes I have the mounting stud but I'm not sure what you mean by the snorkel. This is the complete setup as shown in the pics.

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
There should be a snorkel/pipe where it draws the air in from. Like this one...

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
The one I sold way back in the day was from a 72 truck and had a different snorkel.

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
I think the ones that draw air from the slots in the base are from vans. The one I have on my '70 is like the one cypressbog has pictured.

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
I think you guys are right about this not being from a truck and not being pre 73, I got the complete, running engine/trans setup from a customer who did a 350 swap on his '72 and the lack of a snorkel didn't even register with me. The truck was very original but I called him and asked him to check the SPID and sure enough power brakes were not listed so most likely was upgraded and probably sourced the air cleaner from a van. I apologize for this and had no intention of misleading anybody. I will have the mods lock this thread.
Thanks guys for setting me straight. |

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
I was not saying you were trying to deceive anyone. It would still work on a truck, just would not be an original piece.

Re: 6 cyl offset air cleaner
Stovebolt, I know that you nor anyone else here was accusing me of being deceptive but rather helping keep this board the great resource for parts and correct info that it is. I really do appreciate that you and others took the time to set me straight on something I should have noticed before posting. All done without bashing, personal attacks or insults. Again this is why I love being a part of this forum.
