Re: WTB cable

I did not have any problems with the new one I ordered for mine- listed as fitting both sb and bb-what type of problem are you having with yours? Car cables are too long- my 4x4 had one in it and I know 6 cylinders are different but bb and sb if mounted in original positions use the same length cable. You might contact uncle and see if he has a cable he will sell, he was just parting out 71/72 GMC w/bb a week or so ago.

Re: WTB cable

yeah, cable is too long between firewall and bracket on carb. seems like the 73 350 4 barrel pickups will work. thanks

Is your engine mounted in the stock BB location? How close is the distributor to the firewall?

Re: WTB cable

it's a 68 gmc was a inline 6 4 speed truck since converted to a 69 396/th400 from a parts truck. used the mounts and tranny crossmember from the longhorn 69. idk why it's so difficult??

Re: WTB cable

Won't you need a rod instead of a cable or have you converted it?

Re: WTB cable

unless there's been some cutting on the firewall... a rod should be used in both the 68 and 69 aplications.

Re: WTB cable

It has been converted to the cable type instead of the rod.
