Consoles for sale! Price Reduced!!!!

I have a show quality consoles for sale and can also restore one in your choice of color.

The show quality console is a perfect black original console that I restored. It was disassembled, stripped, then repainted with a satin black. Slightly shinier finish than the CSM console. Also has a new ashtray and new polished bezel and perfect trim ring. Your choice of blue, red, or yellow bowtie. 420 shipped

As you can see from the pictures, I have a few others I am going to restore

I can restore a seatbelt console in black for 420 shipped
I can restore a cupholder console in black for 370 shipped
Or, add $50 and two weeks for any other color of your choice.

I also have some of the billet cupholder conversions I can do but have most of these sold pending payment so I need to see when I can get more. Polished or brushed or trim panel painted to match are the options. 540 shipped (590 shipped in colors other than black)

Here's some better pictures
CSM console shown with buckets (note stainless hardware which is an option and the brushed plate below the ashtray) I can create a console like this as well.

Console I restored with polished plate and painted hardware (blends in better to me)

Re: Consoles for sale!

Sorry for the bad pictures, I will try to take better ones in the light

Another super nice original I have ready for restoration or 350 shipped as is.

Future consoles....I will take the best parts without holes or cracks to create the restored consoles

THis picture shows the unrestored nice black original on the right forefront, CSM in the middle, and my nice one on the right to show the different shade of black...original has faded some of course

Re: Consoles for sale!

I also had an idea of how to repair consoles and still make them very nice. It's hard to make a console with holes or cracks that's been repaired ever look perfect....So....I will be doing one in the next week where I epoxy any necessary repairs, then fill and sand off the texture, smoothing out the console. Then painting the color of your choice or priming it so that you can paint to match your vehicle's interior color. I think this could be a really nice look and will post up as soon as I complete one. I have one that needs work (baby blue in the picture) that's smoothed out like this and it actually looks really cool. With either the billet cupholders or new ashtray/bezel I think it could be very slick (pun intended)

Re: Consoles for sale!

A little better pics of the CSM console. This console has the stickers (new repro) for posi rear and jack instructions inside on the bottom of it as well.

And here's a billet cupholder console I completed and shipped last week

Here's the part around the cupholders up close...it's not chrome but still nice and reflective

Re: Consoles for sale!

Willing to share any secrets? I have a really nice console that PO tried to paint. Needs to be stripped to elimiate paint runs and such. Can you share any suggestions as what you do to "strip" the old paint off before finishing? Thanks. T

I am sure Jonathan will chime in with his expertese. But I know that some blasting mediums are made for substrates such as plastic. One such blasting medium is walnut shells...probably a medium grade. Always begin on an area that will never be seen, such as the bottom of the console. Check the results, and proceed based on the results seen there.

I'm definitely interested too on any tips on how to restore one. I have a nice one that I will one day restore but if there are any secrets that anyone is willing to share would be great.

Re: Consoles for sale!

okay, $25 per secret

Actually, PT has given me good information as well as CSM who described his process in detail. Also Junkyardjohn so I don't mind passing on advice to others...it's a "pay it forward" thing

I disassemble, spray off with water, strip with laquer thinner and then rinse off again with water. I use a hard nylon brush to get off stubborn pieces.

I know CSM blasts his with fine media but honestly the grain looks better/deeper on the one I stripped with thinner than the one that was blasted...although it could just be worn from use....but it's all around deeper.

I use paste chrome polish with cotton buff on the trim rings if they are nice (after a general cleaning)

If the rings have a little surface rust I use 0000 steel wool with a liquid polish and they generally come out looking very nice.

If the rings still have rough areas after polishing, consider sanding them smooth and then prime an paint silver or a color of your choice. The same can be done to the plate above the seatbelt console area.

The ashtrays and console plates I replace with new unless they are very nice. I have some that are brushed that were made a while ago by PT I believe? And then buy new polished ones also.

For hardware I either paint the screw heads (I prefer because they disappear) or polish some stainless hardware.

Patching is done with epoxy or jbweld.

Hope this helped

You can also use ACL site SEM products.. AWESOME... Texture sprays to match original texture and/or make a molded impression from clay of the texture...let it dry...and stamp your patch material smashing wax paper between it of clamping...
P.S. epoxy or pretty much anything does not stick to wax paper. lol

Re: Consoles for sale!

I will add that some original consoles I've had have paint runs. I've heard that they were actually dipped not sprayed so that most likely led to the heavy runs I've seen. Mostly at the back edge. just below the lid.

Re: Consoles for sale!

The consoles are textured then dipped in epoxy paint. Some colors strip harder than others.

Thanks for confirming...I was pretty sure they were dipped because of the thickness of the runs in some of the original black and blue consoles I have.

Cupholder or seatbelt? Do you want one with no cracks or will you fix? Extra holes okay (one or two screw holes) These are all black once stripped then they get primed and painted the color of your choice. Do you want me to strip and paint or will you?
