Suicide doors
Hey guys,
going to be grafting the new rear cab on soon, and am doing suicide doors in the rear. I beieve I have a set of Autoloc suicide hinges, and need some advice on installing them without a door swinging in the opening. I know the basics of setting the hinges, I was really wondering if someone would be so kind as to take some detailed pictures, or give dimensions to locate the hinges. Thanks in advance guys! |

Re: Suicide doors
I wish i had pics. That would mean i had these doors. I would love to do this mod. A buddy has done several sets in the past using some sort of Ford truck hinge. Its a pocket hinge and works well in hidden hinge set ups. Then reuse the stock striker plate and latch system. I've seen his done on a VW Square back, and a Honda Prelude. Both worked rather well.
I will have to wait and get mine driving before i start new projects like that.

Re: Suicide doors
My painter just did my doors this summer....I think i probably had similar hinges to the auto locs you mention originally but switched to the larger single hinge due to issues with the door hitting the body.
