New Guy with dumb questions

Just got my 1st 69 short bed and starting to work on it

1. Does the bench seat fold forward, if so how? and my seat is quite bouncy, can the springs and foam be re-done by an upholstery shop?

2. The holes for the C10 emblems were welded shut and I want to put them back. Do the C10 emblems push in or bolt in from the rear which seems difficult with the fenders mounted

3. Anyone have pictures with the stainless fender well molding offered from LMC
I am thinking they might look good on mine

Thanks

1. I have a bench seat out of a 68. It folds forward. I understand the later model ones do not fold forward.
2. The C10 emblems bolt on from the back. They are almost impossible to bolt on with the fender attached. I did get one on with the fender on the truck but I had to lose just about every bolt that was holding it to the truck and inner fender to get access from the bottom.
3. I can't help you with this one.

Re: New Guy with dumb questions

Welcome to the best BB in the world!

#1A: Seat does not fold forward, some did but most did not. If you look you can see where it is bolted on the sides.

#1B: There are several options on the seat. Springs and foam can be replaced & new cover installed. Or a good seat out of later model cars/trucks can be installed fairly easy & may be cheaper than re-doing an old seat.

#2: I think they have nuts on the back of them. You can reach the front post (of the C10 Emblem) from inside the hood, reaching in behind the inner wheel well (not easy!), otherwise you have to remove the fender. Also you may be able to get them with the small keeper that you put in the hole and slide the post into.

#3 Sorry no pics...

welcome to the board, I agree with the other posts... and I think someone once posted pics of the "chrome" inner fender wells once, you may just try a search on them..

Re: New Guy with dumb questions

Steve it sounds like the other posts have you taken care of, but I wanted to let you know that on this board, there are no stupid questions. So ask away... now you might be directed to another thread for your answer but every question ends up being answered.

Go to your local NAPA store and get some barrel or stud nuts Part# 665-1457. That is what I used on my fender emblems. Depending on the size of your store and how much stuff they stock they may have to order them for you.

Re: New Guy with dumb questions

Welcome. There are no stupid questions on here. Hell, I had to ask why people removed the heater box and where it goes when they do it.
In answer to your post everyone else pretty much answered your question

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
Thanx for educating the rest of us.
