FYI Edelbrock valve covers
Tried putting on a set of Edelbrock aluminum valve covers on the truck and while they will go on, they don't fit. My truck is 350 4X4 and the height of the covers causes them to rub on the firewall. Just an FYI

Interesting. Have you looked at your tranny mount lately? I have found that if the mount is fallig apart, the engine will tilt back a bit. Also, the poly ones are a bit taller and might be just enough to get your new covers on.
What ones did you get? |

I don't have any problems with mine?? There's lotsa room between valve covers and firewall. Do you have the engine mounted in the 6 cyl position or something?

My small block is mounted in the 6 cyl. position on my 67, and I have Edelbrock alum elite covers. I had to gently push in my file wall in two small areas to get the covers to clear.

Edelbrock HP #4249...took them back, don't reall want to dimple the firewall and I don't know how much I would have to dent it in. I've already busted a rotor cap against the firewall when I was hauling wood on a friends farm. Don't know if a comb. of the frame twisting, old body mounts and old motor mounts would have caused it....probably. Have an HEI in it and ended up hacking the back side of the wire retainer ring off.
