Steering column differences?
I have a 68 with 4 speed manual. I bought a floor shift tilt column. I recently read on here somewhere that 67-68 trucks had longer steering columns. Does that mean the tilt I bought will not work?

Re: Steering column differences?
Your tilt will work, you just need a collapsible intermediate shaft to go with it.

Re: Steering column differences?
Yeah the one piece 67-68 shafts go all the way to the rag joint.

Re: Steering column differences?
I'm still not tracking with you here. I thought all the 67-72 steering columns, tilt and non-tilt, are the same overall length and all are connected to intermediate shafts of the same length, but that the 67/68 intermediate shafts are solid and the 69-72 intermediate shafts are collapsible. Both types of intermediate shafts then connect to the rag joint.

Re: Steering column differences?
the 67-8 shaft is longer and does not utilize the wobble joint(kinda like a hiem) where the rubber boot is below the linkage under the hood.
they go straight too the so called collapseable joint then too the rag. there kinda is no intermedite shaft in them.
