Leaky Windshield Problem

The other day when we got a good bit of rain I found water on the inside of the windshield right where the rubber stripping meets the windshield. I knew I had a small leak on the passendger side of the windshield because i get water dripping on the floor but the other day there was water the whole way accross. Is there any way to fix this or di I need to start saving up for a new windshield to be put in? Thanks

HotRod

This is a common problem, and the leak could from one or more different problems. Aftermarket windshield seals seem to be a problem, but then again they work for others. Corrosion up on the drip rail along with cracks in the sealant can allow water to run down the pillar next to the windsheild, and then drips on the floor inside. Rust along the gasket sealing surface is another possible problem. If the truck was involved in an accident then there may be another underlying problem. Your going to have to do some very careful inspecting, and maybe a helper with a garden hose will give you an idea where to start looking. Do some checking and get back with us, maybe even take a picture if you find something significant. TJ

Do a search. This topic came up not long ago. I think Mothertruckers has some informative pics that will help you out.
