Windshield Rubber

Is there a difference in the windshield rubber between 69 and 72?

I am going to attempt to swap a windshield from a 72 into a 69.
Does it matter which rubber I use on the 69?

Re: Windshield Rubber

If it is deluxe (with chrome so to speak) I believe the 69 will have a deeper grove in the rubber because the trim is bigger. It may be backwards and the 72 uses the bigger trim. I always forget which one is which, that's why I use the standard gasket. No trim to worry about. But the size of the trim and the depth the grove is cut in the gasket is waht differs.

Re: Windshield Rubber

Here is an FAQ on replacement. It will take 3 people to make it easy though. Two on outside & one on inside.
