67/68 Park lamps- rewire?

The parking lamps I got with my used 68 clip have some trashed wiring. Can I buy or build just the wiring portion with new connectors and save the cost of replacing the metal parts which are fine? Has anyone done this? I am guessing I would have to re-use the bulb socket and plug end, but not sure. Thanks.

You used to be able to buy the wires with the contacts on them but I havent seen any of them for quite a while. I would go to a salvage yard and see if I could get some good wires out of another vehicle. Another thing you might do is go to an auto parts store and buy a replacement socket that you could take the wires out of. You would have to make sure the wires were compatable though. Just some thoughts.

I did find some bulb sockets at the parts store. I bought two that are just the wires with the spring and contacts, and another one that has the housing. I'll try the just the wires first and see how it goes!
