One piece side windows vs wing windows
Anyone have experience with one piece window kits and if so which ones fit and work the best. Also do they have wind leaks and air noise? I put brand new aftermarket wing windows on my 71 c10 and they make a ton of noise. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

Re: One piece side windows vs wing windows
The notes I have experience with -
There is an indent in the door where the quarter window frames go. That is noticeable without them. Unless you fill them... There is no felt for the forward part of the channel on these kits so the window will not be near as a smooth roll up and down. No new wind noise. Sleek, modern look. YMMV -Paul |

Re: One piece side windows vs wing windows
I bought a set from Brothers and after getting a good look at the total install I changed my mind. My biggest concern is you must cut the upper support between the Vent window and the main window. I had one of these supports break and that created a lot of upper door panel flexing. I also didn't like the idea of have to making mods to the door stop to get the proper clearance for the window channel. Also as ready mentioned the is a slight change in the width of the window channel starting at the vent window. When looking the the window felts provided I did not see this change on the outside window felts provided.
Over all the look is fantastic, but I was just not liking the mods to do it. Anyone interested in buying mine? Still in box.

Re: One piece side windows vs wing windows
The PO of my truck put one piece windows in with manual cranks. They didn't work at all. After working with them for a while and adding power windows they finally work fairly well, but if I roll them down to low one of them still gets stuck. To sum up, they look great, little if no wind noise but be ready to spend some time getting them right.

Re: One piece side windows vs wing windows
if you use your wings for air flow you will loose a ton of air. I had a vw with 1 piece windows and went back to wings to have my 2/55 ac back

Re: One piece side windows vs wing windows
Thanks for all the input guys my main issue is all the wind noise from my new wing windows. I actually like the wing look over the one piece glass so maybe I should just buy some original wings that have been restored
