Hey guys I need your input about my 71 project truck. Its a cheyenne 10frame off project. Its time to make the big dicision about either cutting the frame to make it a shortstepside or leave it a longstepside. I have both beds and I have seen a few pics of lifted 4X4 longsteps and they look beefy. Need some input? to cut or no to cut! thanks Rick

There's a member with a longstep 4x4 that looks pretty tough.
For a 2 wheel drive I'd go short though.

If its 2wd go short.If its a 4x4 get a fleet bed.I have a long step and am going short.

Is it a 2wd or 4wd?I am one who likes them all.But,If I really wanted a shortbed I`d go short.I`d like to find a Plain Jane long srep to run around in.I think they`re cool.

I like short.....but I'm biased, since that's what I chose.

It's all personal. I guess it depends a lot on how you intend to use the truck.

I like short but the one Special K posted is a very nice truck.You don't see many long steps built so they are a bit different.

I would go short, but you might be time/money ahead and find a fleetside long bed...

Short step if you have the choice! I also agree that if it is lifted, not even a 4x4 but just lifted some a long step can look cool. Here's some inspiration!

Long bed you can stuff in and well I like the fleets not stepside they dont appeal to me on any type truck new or old unless you are doin like window guy here in my town. He has a light green 69 short step and I like that one but it hauls painting stuff I guess.

i've never seen a long stepside, looks a little strange to me. if fleetside i'd say longbed all the way.

I've got to go with the crowd and say cut it!

If you would prefer to be different go for it and leave it a long stepper. Best of luck with the decision!
