Radio trim plate
Hi,
I've been looking for a nice single DIN radio trim plate for my 71 PU and 70 Blazer and couldn't find one so I had these made. It made sense to make more than two after all the programing was done so I had an extra 12 made. They are 6061 aluminum and are available in machined finish or polished and come with hardware. I have 12 available to ship immediately (Tuesday) and am willing to get more made quickly. Pricing will be $65 for machined finish and $80 for polished. Shipping should be around $5 but I still have to do some checking. Payment will be accepted by Paypal. Thanks Dan |

Re: Radio trim plate
Put me in line here. Would like outside dimensions to make sure it will cover the "hack" on my dash.

Re: Radio trim plate
Somebody tried to cut out the left knob area of the radio on the truck I just bought and have been looking for a solution for it. This may be it.

Re: Radio trim plate
I think the size should cover my hole. If the "ears" that the knobs poked through are gone, can I mount it?
If so I'd like a machined one. |

Re: Radio trim plate
I was wondering about how it goes on... do you have to drill the holes and then screw it in from the back side?

Re: Radio trim plate
Ok dude, this is what this plate is made for. Go look at the pictures above where he shows his installed. This plate is for people that have had their dash cut for modern decks. Now, the question is, how badly bent is your dash hole? The only way we can tell you that it won't work is if we see a picture of it, and a fairly good one, lol.

Re: Radio trim plate
Well no it was an honest question, I wasn't dissing you. How bad is your dash? Is there any metal left that you can bend back so that the trim plate has a backbone to attach to or is it worse? I can't give you my opinion unless I see your dash first hand. Whenever 71rustpile logs on he can give you the dimensions such as the width between the two screw holes so that you can measure and see if you have enough slack...

Re: Radio trim plate
Just to clarify, the trim plate will cover the entire flat section of the recess for the radio. The dimensions of the trim plate are 8 7/8" x 2 1/2", so if your dash is hacked beyond those dimension this probably wont work for you. The distance between the fastening points is 8 3/8". If you don't have any dash metal wider than that dimension you may have to weld metal back in to your dash for something to drill and fasten to.
Thanks Dan |

Re: Radio trim plate
Hey, Dan, I know I PMed you about a week ago about getting one, but my extra cash ran out since I had to replace the distributor and coil in my truck. Do you still have a polished one left?

Re: Radio trim plate
Whenever I get mine in I will post the before and after pictures of the trim plate assembly. I wish everyone else would too. I'd like to see what it looks like on all colors. Anyone?
