6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

SOLD! to 2many2drive

I've been hanging on to this set of GM 6x15 6-luggers off of a '91 Suburban for a project that I've decided to take another route with. This is as new as they get...last year used by GM. They had the fugly wheelcovers on,which is why the original rim paint is messed up. Straight with a little light rust on one or two. I just hosed the dust off,so the backs are still skanky....$100 postal money order + shipping. I can do Greyhound to save money if that works at the other end.
Here they are:

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

These can be wire wheeled or sand blasted, then refinished to look like new. I've blasted & powder coated wheels that started off with rust that was pitted in some areas and looked much worse than these that came out looking fantastic. A couple more pictures:

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

Sure Jeff. I'll weight them and get back with a quote this evening. If it runs too high, maybe we can get someone traveling near Ft. Meyers from up this way to haul them for some extra gas money.

Thanks Tim, you wouldn't happen to have a set of 1/2 ton dog dish caps for sale, would you? I am thinking these will look nice on my K5 once finished in white.

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

Dang Jeff,I just checked and it's $41+ per wheel??? I put in 27# and 16" for largest dimension. The wheel weighed 26# and I added a pound and an inch for a box. I tried again without a box and it only dropped a few dimes...still $41+. They're usually cheaper than I expect. I priced these a bit lower to help make up for shipping,but...
I'll have to check about hubcaps.

Tim,
If you box them two at a time it will lower the shipping by about a third ( or at least it did in my case). Hope that helps

Richard

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

Thanks for the tip Richard. I just checked and came up with $64.55 for two. So,that's $129.10. Are these worth $230 to you,Jeff? Anyone passing through on their way to Ft. Myers area that would like a fifty to haul four wheels?

Tim, thanks for getting creative on the shipping options. I set my ceiling for wheels and shipping at $165. It looks like I'll have to pass with the shipping rates as high as the are.

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

Yeah, pretty bad when shipping costs more than the item. I guess you'll have to find these locally.

To anyone else out there thinking about steel wheels. The thing with steel wheels is when they are like this they are good as new because they are so easily refinished.. If you want powder coated steelies,it'll cost you good money to buy new. If you buy new primed wheels you need to have them sand blasted, then powder coated. You'll pay at least $200 (actually more) for a set of new wheels and pay shipping. Good used wheels are the cheapest way to go with steelies, even after shipping. I've paid $75 x 4 = $300 for a set, then $200 for sand blasting & powder coat, then over $200 for prime hubcaps. So,that's over $700. Just because steelies and caps aren't the latest bling thing doesn't mean they're cheap, just classy and timeless. You don't have to sandblast or powder coat these because they're not pitted,So for under $200,some elbow grease, and some spray paint you can have nice freshly painted wheels. I may sell these s pairs if anyone is interested, then find a pair of 8 x 15s. This is the hot lick with drop spindles.

Yes. Any 5 or 6 lug GM car or truck hubcap that uses outer nubs fits. On my '67 GMC project right now the rollers (5-lug) have '54 car caps on...just because they were laying around. When it's done I have '65 GTO hubcaps for it.

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

If you split these up in pairs I would be interested in a pair shipped usps bare wheels. I just had 2 16.5x9.75 shipped to me for 29.95 each shipping. Can you check and see what It would be to Arkansas City KS 67005 for a pair of these wheels. Thanks

Standard post is $28.83 each. FedEx wants $55.10 per pair. So, just under $120 for USPS and just over $110 for FedEx

Re: 6x15 Disc Brake 6-lugs

Ok, there ended up being several people interested and I've been digging up quotes for days on sets and pairs. I posted and priced these as a set and that's how I really wanted to sell them. It started out with Jeff wanting the whole set, then backing out because shipping made it more than he wanted to pay. After about a week and no takers I said I'd consider selling pairs, than started getting requests for quotes from many members. Some quotes I gave in PM and got replies there. No one got knocked out of a deal. I had not replied yet and 2many2drive was the first to say he'd take the set, which was before you posted you'd take the pair, and I told him to post in the thread. I guess he doesn't spend as much time on the computer as others and his post came in later. I've been too busy to check as much lately myself. The fact is,he was the first to say he'll take what I was offering...4 wheels. My response to you would have been you have a pair if someone else takes the other pair before someone takes the set.

Ok im not going to wine to much about it but I already had mentioned the pair before he came in the picture. I guess thats why pms should not be used when buying something thats posted. Everyone can clearly see whats going on in the post. Thanks for the reply back. Still looking for a pair if you know of any others.
