They have a red and black grant Wheel at the local parts store. I'm very tempted. I've had this old Camaro wheel forever. What should I do? The Grant is $109....................

This is very close to what I'm thinking about. One thing to think about. All the clutter is gone from under the dash. Guages are all in the Bezel and the stereo is different.

Everyone is in titeled to thier IO.
I have a grant wheel on my truck, dad gave it to me brand new, I put it on, I have never ever had a problem with it, and it is tight and the leather on it is soft.

I have heard that several have had trouble with the horns. Thats sorta why I started this is to hear the good and bad.....Think about it..the steering wheel gets more attention than anything else on your truck other than maybe the gas pedal and I have that covered.

I have never ever had any trouble with mine! You might go get one and have problems with it, but I never had any trouble.

I have run several grant wheels, & the biggest problems I have seen is dirty contacts on the original horn pcs(sig cancellor, ect). Also pinched wires(i have done that

) I have a grant "woody" (714) on my Longhorn, & dont have any problems with the horn. thats a nice looking wheel......Id do the swap. crazyL

I've had problems with the horns. But maybe it's been fixed in the new ones. I have a old one paints peeling, and the horn don't work. But think of what the name brand steering wheels cost. Alot. Or you can just get a custom solid platnium steering wheel like Shaq! LOL

my first grant , I had trouble with. I installed it when I was 16. Didn't realize that the horn wouldn't work on the painted area it made contact with. My new one came with a metallic sticker for it to make contact with ground. not a problem one with this one.

I've got a grant in mine and it's OK...cept for the horn thing...but I am planning on going to the style wheel you have. I think they look better than anything else in our trucks and they feel great.

I think that the horn issue depends on what style you get. The bottom end of the price range wheels have horns that are crap. I decided to give Grant another try but I got a better wheel with a different horn design and it has not given me any problems. I think that they call it their "Signature Series".

I have a similiar wheel to the one you have on your truck and I wouldn't replace it . JMO

Grant's fine if you put it on right. I had a problem with my horn not honking or honking when I turned the wheel. Found out that my cancelling cam was bent so it wouldn't always make contact with the horn button on the turn signal switch. Also, my screw that held the turn signal handle onto the turn signal switch kept backing out and grounding the horn when I turned the wheel (remember the cancelling cam was bent). I replaced the turn signal switch (the old one was cracked, that's why the screw kept backing out) and straightened the cam. Everything works fine now.
So, if you have problems with your Grant wheel, don't blame the manufacturer, it's probably worn parts in the column.

mudder-that is an awesome gas pedal! i was planning on doin that because all i have is the top part that comes though the fire wall, what exactly did you do there? is it possible to take some pics of how its hooked up? thanks

That pedal (foot) just slides down over the orginal and tightens with a coupe of screws and a small cross bar. You would be shocked at all the young kids that see that and comment on it.

I think the horn kits suck also, but Grant does have some good looking wheels available. Mudder, you might check the Grant website and find something you like even better. That red and black one looks like something out of a ricer to me, but that's just my opinion, it might look good once it is on your truck.

thanks mudder, i just have the little rod at the top coming out of the firewall from the stock 67 pedal assembly, ill have to find the actual pedal and get a foot, i allready got a real small one for the highbeam switch

i dont know why but they are so cool...hah

my cheyenne had a grant wheel in it and istead of messing with the horn in the center of the wheel i just went to autozone and bought a universal horn button and hung it from the dash, worked great and as long as the horn works your okay
