Fast idle cam question

Failed smog, so I decided to rebuild/clean the carb and can't figure out how the Fast idle cam lock works. I see I am supposed to adjust it to .015 from the cam pin, but I can't see how it is supposed to stay there or activate.

Any help would be appreciated. Check out the video to see what I am talking about.

That's a lock out for the secondaries for when (I think) the choke is on. I think mine is causing some binding issues so I'm thinking about removing it. My girlfriends 78 camaro doesn't have one.

The fast idle cam is on the center post of the choke with a small adjustment screw (high idle speed) at the bottom/base of the carb there...maybe about 3/4 of an inch forward of that lock out cam.

ahh, ok. That makes sense. This is my first rebuild, so I was just looking at the paperwork. Must have read it wrong. Still not sure if it is supposed to move freely or there maybe I missed a washer or something i missed. So many parts... I took pictures when I removed it, but did not see anything that held it in place.

I just finished rebuilding my second q-jet, did my first one many years ago. When I reassembled my carb, it took me a little while trying to figure out where that piece went...after a while I gave up and dug up another q-jet Ihad sitting in my shop.

Can you get a picure of how you installed it so I can see?

I didn't have time to take a picture today. Spent some of it trying to get my camaro drivable and when that didn't go as planned I had to replace the starter in my Burb. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.
