'66 Grill Back From Chrome
I got my modified stock steel '66 Grill back from Chrome today.
We cut out the mesh in the center and it has been smoothed out everywhere. I am still undecided on whether I will add a Chevrolet Bowtie in the open center, off the support you can see.

Re: '66 Grill Back From Chrome
Grille looks nice! I tend to disagree with the masses here. I am not sure that a bowtie would look right in there. I may change my mind if I could see it. But the visual is not appealing to me.

Re: '66 Grill Back From Chrome
switch it up..i guess it would all depend on whats behind th grille? alum radiator? shiny/glossy fresh paint.. th grille is gonna stand out regardless cause of th chrome, so why add on to it with all th clutter.. thats jus my opinion..

Re: '66 Grill Back From Chrome
Hmm - I'm thinking maybe the chevrolet script from above the big truck grill would look awesome - or perhaps even chrome it and paint the letters black (and I mean rig up a way to place it all in the middle and in place of the bowtie). Or just the bowtie. I'm thinking having nothing in the middle would look odd or like something is missing if you had the 1 vertical bar in the middle. My 2 cents, worth about a penny.

Re: '66 Grill Back From Chrome
Nice Grille! If it were going on my truck I would mount a SS emblem on it and tell people it stands for short stepper

Re: '66 Grill Back From Chrome
Thanks for all the great comments!
The area behind the grill (Grill Surround) will be gloss black with a 1" wide red boarder. The vertical support in the middle comes right out with a couple rivets. I think I will take it out and mount a Big Truck Bowtie to it, if I can find one. The thought process was to paint the vertical support black to match the background of the grill surround. I could always remove the Bowtie if I dont like it later. I could chrome a Big Truck Bowtie and paint the center the same Red as the boarder. Anyone have a Big Truck Bowtie laying around?
