what's the difference between a 350 and 400 transmission? Don't plan on using the Jimmy off road much anymore...and I'd like to be running less RPM's on the highway, is a 400 a 4 speed? what's it cost to get a decent one swapped with my 350 trans? Thanks.

a th400 is the bigger brother of the th350..its a 3 speed and it has a diffferent first gear ratio, but is much stronger than the th350..the down side is that it takes more horse power to turn the th400 than it does the th350

Put in a 700R4 and they'll never be able to wipe the grin off your face! I just did this week, took the wife for a ride tonight, even she likes it!

what did the 700 cost you? is it a 4 speed? did you have to make any changes on the transfer case end? I'm running a NP205. I'm thinking about driving this truck cross country so I'm seriously thinking about doing something.

Didn't realize yours was a 4X4. Mines a 4X2, so I'm sure yours would cost lots more.
