steering colum
i just swapped colums in my 72 3/4 ton chevy i put it all back together but there is about an inch of movement when you grab the wheel and pull it up and down any ideas

Is the lower spring in place on the shaft?
There should be a spring on the shaft between the column and joint. Jim
