6 Cyl HEI

I was just wondering if anyone knows whether the HEI from the integral head engine is the same as the one from the earlier(Non-integrated head)engines?I have an earlier one but located a complete(looks like it's nearly new) one I can pick up for cheap.I'm hoping to swap in the next couple of weeks.TIA!!!

Yes, it'll be the same and work just fine.

X3!!!

The integrel head engine 250 HEI will fit the non-integral 250 and the 292. This same HEI will also work on the older in-line sixes with modification for the 216 and 235.

Re: 6 Cyl HEI

Thanks guys.I didn't have them both together so I couldn't compare.Tn I didn't put the carb on.It's an auto choke with the heat stove and such and mine is a manual.I haven't had time to do more than just look.Mrs P is recovering from her surgery and is at the point where she can't do anything but is sitting around getting bored and depressed so I have been doing "mental health" stuff to keep her spirits up.I did find a power steering set-up yesterday that I am planning on picking up sat AM.I'll probably get the HEI and may look at the carb on it while I'm there.

Re: 6 Cyl HEI

PanelDalend,
I'm trying to find an orginal mono-jet that uses the heat stove. I have the one that came with the truck but the po added a manual choke. I think he modified the carb so the manual choke rod went over the driver's side of the engine bay.

If you could snap a pic of the carb where the rod that goes from the front of the carb to the bi-metalic spring that would be helpful.

Hope Mrs. P feels better
