Question about installing receiver hitch on 1972 GMC 1/2 ton
Hello all,
I need to install a class III/IV receiver hitch on my 1/2 ton 1972 GMC long bed. Looking at the Draw Tite brand and model 41504 Question is this, anyone running one with a stock bumper on it? I have the original dealer bumper on my GMC, been on there since new...and I want to keep it on there. Will the hitch mount under the bumper? Can't find drop dimensions to check before I buy one. My spare mount is already gone so I don't have to worry about that. Thanks for any help.

Re: Question about installing receiver hitch on 1972 GMC 1/2 ton
I would think the best way is to contact Drawtite and ask them the drop on the hitch for your truck, I'm sure they can answer that for you. then measure the distance from the bottom of your frame to your bumper, depending the truck there is more than 1 bumper, especially with 3/4T.
I cant get to my drawtite hitch right now and not sure its the same model your refering too, because i bought it probably 15 years ago and for a 76 3/4T but it has somewhere around 3" drop. I can check it tomorrow if you still need me to.
