Rochester MV Idelt Vent Valve Adjustment
Truck is bogging of idle. One issue may be the idle vent valve - I've searched high and low for a vacuum leak and couldn't find one. Here's a picture of the vent valve - does anyone know how to adjust it? (typical carb for 250 L6)

Re: Rochester MV Idelt Vent Valve Adjustment
Mines adjusted so that it's open slighly at idle and when you move the throttle it closes. That's evidently all it does. Newer carbs didn't have that vent.
Only thing that reduced my 250 from bogging was addition of an HEI and advancing the timing. Still does it somewhat. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Troubleshooting.htm |
