Wiring harnes, under dash and under hood(V8)

pretty much complete, uncut for the most part. Some of the wires look like they might have been skinned and taped up but I don't see any splices. Still has the voltage reg. attached and an ign. switch but ne key cyl. -$ 70 for all, shipped

Cool Re: Wiring harnes, under dash and under hood(V8)

Did you sell this wire harness ? If not You can identify it by the safety nuetral switch .The automatic will have the extra two (purple) wires going to it .and the standard is not likely to have the two purple wires on the switch .The wires 45 degree to each other are the backup lites. The other two prongs are parrallel and for safety nuetral switch.
I am looking for a harness with the nuetral switch intact. I will have a harness for trade for a standard if anyone else is interested .

Re: Wiring harnes, under dash and under hood(V8)

I may need to be corrected in that the two purple wires may be present on a standard as well except they might go to the clutch switch and may be the same colour or not. Can anyone support this theory ?

Re: Wiring harnes, under dash and under hood(V8)

I don't know myself, but neither GMC Pauls websight or LMC's catalogue specify a different harness for different trans-they only distinguish between gauges and lights. This one is definately for gauges
