Shock Suggestions???
I am getting to the point where I am rebuilding my front and rear suspensions on my '68 C-10 and was wondering what brand of shocks does everyone out here suggest.
I have looked up prices for KYB, Napa Shocks, Koni and AC Delco, but want to make sure I am getting the best bang for my buck. I have low profile tires and want to have the truck handle fairly good. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand and how much you might have payed for them. Thanks for all your help, this forum is great! Adam |

Re: Shock Suggestions???
I like KYB Gas-A-Just shocks -- firm control with a decent ride. I have them on my K20 and also on my '95 Grand Cherokee. Got 'em at a good price at http://www.p-s-t.com/.

Re: Shock Suggestions???
I have Monroe Sensatracs on my vette, and they handle better and ride WAY better than my old delco ones, so I was thinking of going with them on my truck as well. The rear ones are "Load adjusting" and look like a coilover. They supposedly handle loads better, but I'm not sure if I can justify the price.

Re: Shock Suggestions???
Try the "Reflex" around 40.00 each but you'll never go back to anything else.

Re: Shock Suggestions???
On my 65 I used Gabriel all around but they are three or four different levels/prices. In the front I have a, I think its called a sport, it was the top of the line Gabriel through auto zone. In the rear (I have leafs) I used a medium grade Gabriel. If you need I can get the part numbers. Total with tax was around $140 and I am very pleased with the ride.
Also, I think they smae shocks are used through 72 if I am not mistaken, maybe even longer.

Re: Shock Suggestions???
I use the white KYB's, I think they're different than the gas-adjusts. My grey gas-adjusts didn't last very long at all and I've had the white KYB's on my Camaro for years and so I decided to try that model. They are MUCH better I think. I'll find out exactly what part number I have in my truck and edit this post later.

I think the gray KYBs may be their GR-2 shocks.

Re: Shock Suggestions???
I forgot about this post. Anyway, the KYB's are model #KG-5409 and I use them front and back.
