Viscous Center Differential

Anyone know where I can buy one that will hold up to 1,000 rwhp? It's going on a Chevy 1/2 ton with a turbocharged big block.

viscous center differential? like a transfer case? if you're putting a big block in a 1/2 ton 4x4, you need to ditch the 1/2 ton axles, or the big block will do it for you.

What are trying to build, an AWD Chevy truck? You going to rally or hill climb?

I'm going to have new axles put on front and rear for sure

It's going to be a street truck but with AWD and lots of power. . Maybe too much power for the drivetrain. I'll check out strange and currie. Thanks.

Try an Olds Bravada or a Astro Van. The Quadra-Duece that Summit owns is putting out about 700hp. I don't think you are limited by the TC, but I know of Sy/Ty owners that remove the front driveshaft to pick up time in the 1/4.

if i were in such a situation, i'd take the traction over the loss of drivetrain draw.

I feel the same. It's going to be scary fast and being a truck with most of the weight up front, it would be almost impossible to get any traction. With the AWD, it should surprise a few fast motorcycles. My camaro is pretty fast, but I've lost to a few big bore bikes. Just for safety, the truck will need the AWD. I'm planning on running 4 drag radials. If this thing doesn't run at least 140 mph in the 1/4, I'll be shocked.

mini tubs, 4 link, and a diet. you're not the first one to make a truck hookup with all that power, there have been plenty of others who have done it without a front axle, i see no reason why you cant do the same.
