Carmine Red vs. Burgundy

I was curious if anyone could answer wether the burgundy interior color, that seems to have started in 84, is the same as the carmine red? I'm asking before I order vinyl dye since everything I find seems to be carmine red.

No they are not the same. That is weird that all you can find is Carmine. Burgundy is more readily available. When I needed the Carmine Red, I had to use Firethorn & Portola Red. I mixed the 2, to achieve the Carmine Red.

Here's a link to the thread on the subject that I started, when I was looking for Carmine Red.

Re: Carmine Red vs. Burgundy

My truck came with Burgundy interior. All the aftermarket stuff, door panels, dash, carpet, etc. all seems to be just Red or Carmine Red. I don't really want to change it. Am I missing something?

I found the same thing. USA 1 industries does do a pretty good job of keeping the colors divided correctly. I ended up calling and talked to Randy over there and he had the correct color codes and knew what he was talking about. I've always had good luck with working through him on parts. He's very knowledgeable on the differences in model years etc. He's also been pretty honest about which products he has are good original quality and which are not. I did call some of the other companies and they told me they were the same but were in fact selling the wrong color of carpet for my year of truck. I even checked with acc and they showed that the color that they were seeking was for the earlier year trucks not the proper color for the burgundy that we have. That was my findings, I ended up buying carpet and color dye and some other parts from Randy over there bc he did have the proper colors and knowledge. That goes a long way with me.

Glad to here you were able to find the color you where after. I have worked with Randy also in the past, he is very helpful. I don't know why I didn't think earlier to have you call him. Glad he was able to help you out.
