Pvc Setups on a 68 with 327
Can anyone tell me what kind of pvc setup was used on a 68 1/2 ton with a 327?

There is none on the 67 327 1 ton we have,just the canister in the lifter valley.I'm not sure if that is the stock setup,but there is no holes in the valve covers where it should be.
All the blowby comes out of the oil filler tube,and straight into the cab <choke cough>Stinks too

Any motor that is pre 69 will have no provisions in the valve covers for a breather. They used the oil filler tube in the intake and a canister with road draft tube out the back. Some of them had an adapter in the place of the road draft tube that a vacuum line hooked up to like a pcv. All of the old blocks had a place in the back next to the dist for the road draft tube and the corresponding canister in the lifter valley. they also used an intake with oil filler hole. I ran into this problem with my 327 cause I used a newer block with old valve covers and intake. I have a vent through the filler tube but no way to pull air through the block. we drilled and tapped the intake for a chrysler pcv valve but it pulls too much oil vapor from the lifter valley and burns it. the thing looks like it has bad rings or valve guides cause it leaves a blue cloud. We are in the process of fabricating a canister type setup to slow down the air and get the oil droplets out before sending it back into the engine.

My 68 327, completely stock, has the PCV setup on it. One hose going from drivers side valve cover going to base of carb, passenger side valve cover has PCV valve in it... or something like that. I can't remember too well at this hour. |

ok maybe it is 67. It's the ones that use solid valve covers if you have a pcv in the covers then you are set.

My 68 327 has a stock PCV valve too. I don't remember how everything's piped up but I can snap some more pictures for you if you want skokie.

my 68 with a 307 has a pcv valve in the valve cover also.
