Stepside Rear Sport bumper Question,...

I have a set of rear sport bumper brackets for a 67-72 stepside truck.
These brackets look completely different than the fleetside rear brackets.
I took them off of a complete bumper assembly, so I know they fit.

The other part of my question,... I know these bumpers were installed from the factory, on the later model stepsides (73-87), even though they didn't match the "style" of the 73-87 front bumpers.

So,... are the brackets different? (67-72 compared to 73-87)

Also any pics of the factory "gravel guards" would be nice. I seem to have misplaced the ones I took off of these brackets.

Thanks, for any help or pics that anyone can provide.
I'll try to post pics of my brackets tomorrow.

Re: Stepside Rear Sport bumper Question,...

I am curious too. I have a stepside and when I look for gravel gaurds I can only find them for fleetside. Did stepsides have gravel gaurds too?

Re: Stepside Rear Sport bumper Question,...

OK,... here's what I have.
The thinner brackets are the 67-72 version (for a fleetside and I assume stepside bumper),... and the wider brackets are the 73-87 version that came off of a stepside bumper.

The wider 73-87 brackets don't exactly fit the 67-72 coil spring frame rails. I think they could be modified to work.
I'll probably just save them for a future project.
I believe these are also different than the 73-87 fleetside bumper brackets.

I may have to post this up over in the 73-87 section to verify the correct application of these wider bumper brackets.

Has anyone seen these stepside brackets before?
