Control arm question.
I have just had my chassis powder coated and all the parts refinished now. Something that was unfortunatly overlooked was on one of the lower control arms. Where one of the "control arm shaft caps" bolt into the actual control arm, I noticed the thread is worn quite badly. It does seat the cap but I dont think it will take much torque when it is tightened. Has anyone had this problem? Is it worthy of me replacing the whole lower conrtrol arm or is there anything else I could do to fix it.
Thanks

I don't think the part you are talking about are actually threads, I noticed those on mine but the threads that hold them together are inside the cap shafts.

I've heard the same comment on this board previously and I remember having the same concerns with my control arm threads . From what I have gathered the threads on the control arm are just very shallow, not really intended to hold the bushing all that firmly, the secure fit comes from the threads on the bushings and bushing caps.
Thats my opinion anyhow. A brand new control arm would be the same.
