Aftermarket tach install question
I have read the FAQ thread about installing a Autometer Tachometer behind the factory cluster and gauges using a 3 3/8" gauge, but i am wondering if anyone has tried using a 3 3/4" so you would not have to use a spacer and it would fill the factory hole opening better. Any info about this would be great.

I am not 100% sure what you mean about a spacer. I didn't use a tach, but my temp gauge is 3 3/8" and it fit like a glove (mounted from behind). What would the spacer be for?

I think you got confused putter, what i meant to say is installing a aftermarket tach in a factory cluster and gauge set up. If you look at the thread pics under faq aftermarket tach install article posted by jhwkns you will see that the gauge doesnot fill the factory hole and that there is a spacer that is painted black, which is why i am wondering if a 3 3/4 gauge would fit or not. Sorry for the confusion.

Are You Talking About Taking The Tach Apart And Just Using The Internals And Not The Original Aftermarket Housing?
