yes to the bumper... Could it be the bumper throwing it off also? I was told it was a 69 smooth bumper but it does not mount right.

No, sorry man, totally wrong bumper, I think sicklajoie is right, it's a 73+ bumper? I kinda dig it (if it had the right bumper) but it may look better chrome because of the headlight bezels and bumper.

Re: New black grill, dont think it looks right???

Looks like a 73+ bumper to me also.....

but your right something does seem a little off, I think it may be the color matched grille shell, although I have never been a fan of these trucks with billet grilles. No matter what color billet, it just seems to always leave something to be desired. imo

Re: New black grill, dont think it looks right???

It is a mid 70's bumper, at the time though i thought it was a 69, it is a 73.
Maybe chrome grill, black bezels and a true 69 chrome bumper...

For me it's the grill itself that I can't feel the vibe, not just the fact that its black. To clarify, that is a 73-80 bumper.

X2, The vibe is not there. I believe.... that is not a "billet" grill just a "tube" grill that was popular in the late 70's. Go egg crate grill!!!

Paint the headlights bezels black or paint the grill silver.

Gotta make up your mind, Black or chrome. With black wheels and grill you gotta black out the bezels, bumpers and my guess is the mirrors as well.

IMO....paint the grille shell AND bezels black, get the right bumper, and you got it. The original egg crate inserts look great black, too.

Re: New black grill, dont think it looks right???

My opinion is that the bumper needs to go. The differences between the '67-72's compared with the '73-87's is that the earlier bumper has the bend that follows the contour of the grille. The later bumper is straight to complement the grille shell.

The bumper definitely doesn't look right, as everyone else said, but setting that aside, I think if you painted the headlight buckets black it'd look better. I vote for the buckets painted black..

Re: New black grill, dont think it looks right???

Yes, but black bumpers will go with your theme better, and I think the grille shell also should be black. And dont forget that you need the turn signals that go in the bumper. I just noticed that your front side markers are shaved so you have no front turn signals at all. So, even if it was a '69 bumper, its still the wrong bumper. '69-'70 bumpers have no turn signals, '71-'72 have them.

Don't paint stuff that came chrome/stainless from factory, in my opinion.

Paint headlight bezels black and put a roll pan on the front. Either way, ditch the 73-80 bumper. It's kinda like socks on a rooster.

My vote is: use the correct bumper and go with a chrome grille or factory grille. As it sits...it just doesn't fit. JMHO

Re: New black grill, dont think it looks right???

Have you thought of painting the grill to match the body color. Black matches the wheels but it just doesn't seem to be making the connection/flow from the wheels to the grill. Maybe get someone to photo shop a few options before you take action. Best to you!

Post a better pic over in the photoshop area. Find a pic with a similar angle correct bumper too. One of the photoshop guys can give you ideas before you have to spend any cash.
