Shaving Stake Pockets

Is there a place where I can get the plates necessary to shave the stake pockets on my '86.

Re: Shaving Stake Pockets

All you need is some flat sheet metal. If your going to weld it your self I take tape and place it over the hole and use a pincel to shade or trace the edge. Then stick it to you metal and cut it out with a pair of snips. May have the proper gauge at Lowes. There has to be some where that sells sheetmetal there. To many tractors for there not to be a metal shop close.

Re: Shaving Stake Pockets

I've talked to this guy because I was going to convert mine to swb and then changed my mind. If you do buy this truck I am interested in the power window parts and possibly the column if tight.

that's because he wants to sell it

hood was junk, rockers rusted out, lower 6" of the bed sides were rusted so bad that all the braces were broke off. front fenders are badly dented, etc.

i looked at this one too.

better shape but still kinda rough. lowering kit kit consist of cut coils and removed leafs. rusted out bed and cab corners, holes in the headers, busted up grill, and a rear bench from a bronco just sitting in the cab. the guy was really nice though and upfront about it all. i may still try and work something out with him
