Should I lower My Truck? Poll Please.
I have been kicking around the idea of lowering the truck a little, maybe a 3" front and a 5" rear and adding some Torque Thrust II wheels. I was thinking maybe give it a little different look. The rest of the truck is stock except for the cut radio hole, speakers in doors, and the under bed fuel tank with sidemarker fill. I will be adding Vintage A.C. this week sometime (already have the system, just looking for the time) with original style vents. Should I just leave it alone? What do y'all think? If anyone could photoshop for me the difference that would be great. Might help me make up my mind. Opinions please!
Shawn

I vote for the change.
You can always put it back the way it was if you get tired of it. There is always a market for those type of parts. I like the stance of this truck. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php3?t=104435

I would leave it at the stock height, but that is the opinion of someone who lives on a dirt road.

Personally, I think the fleetside trucks look better dropped then a flareside. Keep it up.

My vote is to lower it and put the TT2's on it. I just like these trucks down there unless it's a 4X4.

I say lower it. The wheels could go either way....keep those or get new ones, but lower it.

Yep, lower it with a 4/6 drop IMO. TT2's are always a good choice too.

As was stated earlier, you can always go back to what you have now... I'm getting ready to post some never-used Early Classic dropped spindles on the parts board if you decide to do the drop...

Don't lower and use the money that you were going to use to drop it and get new wheels and start another project cause that truck is done!! leave it just the way it is!

I'd lower it and get some new rims. TT2's are cool but everybody and their brother has them, so go I'd for something different (but go with a 5-spoke wheel).

I am for keeping it as is...RIms maybe, but I think they are sharpest like yours. But I use mine and don't need to drag anything on some of the roads I travel.

Wow what a response! Thanks Longhair for that great photoshop! Juudging by the polls it looks like most everyone wants the drop and rims. A good point is made about being able to change it back later. i'm going to have to give this some serious thought. I just spent an hour putting on an A.C. compressor and brakets for my vintage system. It should have only taken me about 25 minutes. Stupid bolts and tight tolerance brackets. Oh well if that is the hardest thing I have to do I will be happy, but if not I'm in for a world of hurt.
Thanks for all the compliments about the truck. I would love to build a replica, only in a fleetside and truly customize it, but unfortunately other toys are in the process or in line first (the wifes '66 Midget, 2 new motorcycles, an old Chris Craft wooden boat) then possibly another truck! Shawn
