Will tubular control arms leave my 67 lower infront when aired out?

Getting ready to purchase CCP tubular control arms for the 67. The truck is on air bags and has a CCP small bolt in notch in the back. I have stock disc brake spindles (not drop spindles). I am wondering if i should get drop spindles or not. I am wondering if the truck will be level when aired out if i get the CCP control arms and use my stock level disc brake spindles. My thought is to save some dough and keep the stock level spindles because drop spindles would leave the truck lower in front than in back when totaly aired out. What do you guys think? Anyone with experience with this? I know this is the best place to ask.

You could do both,... but the most "bang for the buck" would be the drop spindles.

I agree with Lo ... go with the spindles first.

I pretty much think my control arms are shot so i was going to buy tubular control arms for sure, but i would like to know if i need to buy drop spindles or not with them. Do you know if the truck will lay level aired out with stock level spindles? Remember, i have the small bolt in c-notch in back.

You can get your truck this low, with a small c-notch, drop spindles and the front inner fenders still in place.
These are 20's up front and 22's in the rear.
I believe the front tires are 255/40-20's.
A 45 or 50 series tire would not allow you to go this low.
Is that low enough?

Thanks lolife99. Like they say, pictures are worth a thousand words. That truck is perfect. It looks pretty level. So thats on bags aired out with drop spindles? Sweet. I guess if I dont add the drop spindles, i wont get that low. I already finished the rear with the small CPP notch. Yes, I would like to keep the inner fenders.

With out drop spindles you won't be close to that low. In addition, n2billets truck is running Porterbuilt tubular arms that maximize the drop as well.

One thing to know is these trucks have a front crossmember that will be your lowest point. Unless you go to a raised crossmember, the lowest you will be able to get is laying your A-arms on the ground. N2billets truck is very close to that point.

Something else to point out is you mention his truck sits flat. It is not as level as the pic LoLife posted makes it appear. It still has a really nice rake, which is just about a perfect stance to us old school hotrodders. To accomplish this he did have to cut a small hole in the bed.

Tough question. Most of us don't even consider it, we just run dropped spindles and call it done.

Thanks N2TRUX. If you run tubular control arms, drop spindles and bags, when you air out the front how close to the ground does the frame get with say, 20" wheels and 45 or 50 series tires?

So that you can get another idea of how it will sit. In this pic its aired out with drop spindles, factory control arms, and lower bag cups that i cut 1" off of them. The rear has your same cpp bolt in c-notch with 2" lowering blocks. Obviously im running 15" rallies all around soon to be swapped with 20" Boss 338 all around. Hope this helps.

Re: Will tubular control arms leave my 67 lower infront when aired out?

Careful, when I purchased the CPP tubular arms, there was a note that stated that they would not support the use of air bags. I am not sure what you have in mind, but be sure that you are looking at parts that would work with your plan.

My plans are tubular A arms 3" drop spindle and drop springs. My 68 truck has a K member from a later truck under it. this way we got the 5 bolt front disc spindles in on kit.

CPP make tubular a-arms for bags now,... along with their tubular a-arms for coil springs.

My mistake....the X will be 1/2" off but for only having staock control arms I think thats pretty good......

BUT

you still have the other issues to deal with.....I'm running stock tires (29"tall) and 6 lug 8" rallies and I'm going to have to take a good chunk out of the hood hindge and fender support..then I plan on using a 13" wide trailer fender to close things up

FTR, 29" is taller than stock.

Correct.

For reference, this is point of impact with stock arms, 3" spindles, stock Ride Tech cups, and no obstruction from fender liners. The stock arm is on the ground, the actual crossmember is not.
