Re: show ur custom/ painted grilles

I know LMC truck sells a billet grille for 69's. Brothers has the same one I think. If you go on LMC's site, they have a nice picture to give you an idea of what it looks like. I'm not sure if I like it or not but I'd also be interested in seeing what anyone else has.

Cool........looks a lot better on your truck than it does in the LMC catalog. I may have to pick one of those up. How hard was it to modify the hood latch (as mentioned in one of the previous posts)

I actually changed mine to where it is opened with a cable from inside the cab wasn't too hard and I think someone had a thread about it on this board

Wow! Those inserts look sweet. Your pic does give a better view of how it looks than in the catalog. I've got a 70 and I know now what I will go with if I decide to make a change.

Nothing fancy but I blacked out the vertical bars.

Re: show ur custom/ painted grilles

The LMC insert for '69-70's requires a modification to the latch. You have to add a piece that hangs below the bumper so you can operate the original latch. It looks good in the catalog and doesn't look too bad up close and personal. It's an option.

One thing about the '69-70's is the design of the brightwork just doesn't lend itself to very many modifications. One thing I had thought about was using a '71-2 grille shell, with a '57 Chevy Bel Air grille bar "floating" in the opening. In order to make it work, you'd probably need some expanded metal (painted flat black) to achieve the look tht is in my mind.

Here's the mesh before I removed them. I like the stock look better.
