Post Battery drain

Here is the problem. My starter gave out on me last week and I changed it. But I now have a battery recharge problem. I have changed out the alt. and the reg. but running the truck kills my battery. I have also realized that my turn signals and wipers do not work at all now. Any ideas on where to locate the problem would be great. 350hei/auto trans

I would double check the connections on the new parts you installed. Also have you had the battery checked? I had the same problem once and solved it with a internal regulator alternator. Even though the previous external regulator was brand new, it was malfunctioning. Hope this helps.

Here is how you check it. Disconnect the negative battey terminal. Put a test light in between the battery terminal, and the cable. (in series)

Now if you have a battery drain, the light is going to be on. Now start disconnecting things, like your alternator, and start pulling fuses, 1 by 1. Eventually the light will go out when you pull the right fuse, or pull off the right wire. Just keep an eye on the test light, and do one at a time.

That is the quickest way to narrow it down.

(had a friend that couldn't find his drain, I showed him that, and we found it in 2 mins. Damn aftermarket electric choke.)

Hope this helps ya!
