Does that happen to you all?

My truck is nothing to look at (it's a slow work in progress) but it seems like a lot of times when I come out of a parts store, lumber yard or grocery store, theres someone looking in the window. And, most of the lookers are younger guys. To me it's a good sign that the young generation is interested in these old trucks...

I have people look everywhere I go.A lot of them wonder why I drive an old truck.I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota and nobody looks twice.I feild about 3 people per drive's questions.

"My truck is nothing to look at" Dude! You're dead wrong. If I saw it in a parking lot I'd check it out too. I'm not crazy about the wheels, but it is a nice clean good looking truck with tons of potential. As a matter of fact, if it were mine, I'd throw some wheels on it, maybe just some stock wheels with smoothie hub caps, drop it a few inches and cruz.

Yeah, I know what you mean. They're temporaries. I got a good deal on these six lug chrome ones. Guy wanted $100 for the rims, caps, & bolts. I have the original rims and original GMC caps that I'm going to put on it when I get them blasted and painted. The chrome ones will be going on my 69 Chevy.

That is an awesome looking truck! That bad would boy would look awesome set -up like my beater truck with some wide 8" steel wheels on the rear with those caps.

I know you mean about people looking at your truck. When I drive either one of my 69 SWB's or my dually get lots of looks, questions, and the occasional thumb up. I think my old beater truck gets more looks than the red one, and the red one is a much nicer truck!

They are looking because it is a 67-72 GM truck. The 67-72 C10's are to trucks what the 67-69 Camaro is to cars. The coolest ever made!

I agree with his comment... I just never thought they'd be as popular as they are.

I really hadn't realized how many people like these trucks other than on this forum. I had them parked and stored for 15 years or so waiting for my retirement. Needed something to do.

I used to drive the 69 chevy about 20 plus years ago but it was just an old truck then. This 68 GMC I never drove a lot and just a couple of months ago I got it road worthy again with inspection and insurance.

Plans are for going over them completely and hopefully a professional paint job. Got a retired body shop neighbor that said he would do it...

us younger guys r definatly going bac 2 the old trucs. hec a student brought a 67 c10 into our auto shop. wen a 57 potiac came in a lot of rice boys wer checking it out. my truck always turns heads wen i com and go from the school, hec anywer. the one day at school the battery died and i had the hood open and the crowd that is always by the school doors was rite in front of my truck lookin at the engine. so if u ask me, the days of kids owning slow hondas r numbered

Good to know that. I've never seen more interest on the old iron than in the last few years. Not sure why but it's got it's advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages is that lots of companies are making parts for these trucks now and competition should certainly keep prices in check and hopefully improve quality .

The disadvantages is that right now some of these parts are cheaply made and original parts are getting harder to find and cost a lot more.

Unfortunately, I have actually gotten yelled at once or twice for "snooping". Aparantly they thought I was just a young kid looking to cause trouble or steal the thing. After I explain to them that I own a BBC 72 their tune changes and they are looking at pics of it on my phone. lol.

I take it as a big compliment

Ha! I'm one of those younger guys (at least I feel younger) looking in the windows of other peoples trucks. They're just the coolest.
