Now how about helping Ludwig?
Now that Andy has a truck, we have another member of this board that is truckless and could use some help. I hope he doesn't get mad at me for this, but LudwigTheMad is relying on his '64 Rambler (which is also needing some help) for transportation out there in CA. I got an e-mail from him today concerning another subject, but he also mentioned that he hasn't been able to do anything about another truck yet. I don't know his whole situation, but thought that maybe we could all pull together and help him find a truck. Hell, we need the Mad-man back amongst us just for the bits of wisdom he used to provide this board. At the least, maybe some of the CA members could keep their eyes open for trucks for sale. Then, if he needs any more help, we can pull together and do what we can. So, how about it guys and girl, any ideas?

I'm not saying we need to buy him a truck. Without knowing more about his situation, I wouldn't want to get carried away. I was just hoping for starters to get some of the California members to help look for a truck for the Mad man, then if he needs some help, we can go from there. He has provided me with many laughs in the past, I'd sure like to get him back on the board on a regular basis. And by the way, I am not on crack, and not too sure what to think of that comment!

I know what you're sayin' Fast, I'm jobless myself right now, so it would be tough for me to do much. I just got the impression from Ludwig's e-mail that he was a little bummed out about the truck situation, and thought I'd see if anyone had any good ideas.

lol@ fine69. Im sorry, but owning a truck is not a necesity! If the guy needs basic transportation then he should look for a cheap reliable car. Money is tight for everyone. Are we going to buy a truck for everyone that begs for a truck? Example: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ub...ML/001578.html

I think buying someone else a truck is a STUPID idea. That is why i didnt donate the last time. No offense to Longhornmail meant here. I will give someone parts if they NEED them. Always have, always will. But Ludwig sold his last one because he needed the money. Ok,thats his problem. When times are tough you gotta do what you gotta do. Why on earth would you want to get him another? Let him get his own.
I know i am not the only one who feels this way. I have tried numerous times to raffle off parts on this board to benifit OUR addictions(this board, our trucks). But nobody was interested. Go figure. But the same people will give $25 or so bucks to buy a truck for someone they might never meet? Are you mental? My $.2 cents.

No offense taken. I was amazed that so many ppl were willing to do it, just on your listed reasons alone.
However, me being the generouse person I am (when able to be) I like helping ppl. That is why I have offered certian board members some parts for nothing, or next to nothing. If I'm not going to use it, and it is a small nothing part, I am willing to donate it to someone who needs it. After all, if it is a common part, and of little to no value to the owner, it is just 30+ year old stuff sittin in the shed, right? ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. longhornmails reason for willing to donate is the same as mine, if theres someone even if i just seen post by them helping people, if i can i will help them if they need something. if i have a part thats extra to me i will try to sell it at the most afordable reasonable price i can.
