tv destroyed a c10.

I was just looking around on the site and had my tv on to fuse ( a mtv type channel.) and as soon as i look at the tv to see who was singing the crappy song i was hearing and I see a c10 ramming some car. why couldn't they have used like an 80's pickup or a ford. It was Bullet for my valentine's music video for All the things I hate. it was a long fleet that needed to be painted but so what is wrong with these people.

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

I don't understand why classics still get trashed either. BTW, what really blows me away is that people are STILL jumping Chargers yearly to "celebrate" the Dukes show...what's up with that?? They aren't worth enough yet to restore??

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

Well..... I could see your views on the Charger. They're rare as can be. But they're also widely known for... stupid things like that. So, here's my take:

You can jump a Charger, but only if its a small jump that puts you three or so feet in the air. Nothing outrageous.... which is pretty much all the Dukes boys did. Cool muscle cars should be used... and even abused, but not wrecked. It's what they were built for. Not for sitting in a garage getting rubbed by a diaper.

As for the commercial, that's just a sad insult. If you're gonna ruin something, do it the right way and take it off a rediculous jump. DOn't purposely run into something at full speed. They'd have been better off using a full size Bronco.

I hope that wasn't a personal blow to me! I'm not inexperienced, I play Grand Theft Auto!

No, but seriously, what a waste of a truck. AND the song sucked.

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

The whole deal is... its probably not a classic to whoever was in charge of that stunt and/or it was a cheap vehicle to make a video with.

My cousin thinks VW's are the coolest thing on the planet & has 4 of them. I wouldnt blink an eye if one T-boned another car in a video.

One mans junk...

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

well I was not a Fan of the 1969--70 grill it that was a short bed fleet side or a Longhorn with a 402 or 396 i be a little up sett but seen a lof of them trucks with the floors so gone in them and plue most of the time they rent those trucks it was like the bus they Blow up in SPEED the movie it belong to a guy in Riverside Calif you got $22,000 for the bus all he had to do was paint it for LA transit colors and thats all

SO if some one showed up at your door step and ask if they could use your truck and pay you 10,000 and if they damage your truck they would buy it for $20,000 trust me you all would really think about that one you could built 2 trucks with that money or build the truck of your dreams

it was like that 1963 Green chevy that clint Eastwood drove in the brigges of maddison county that was a rented truck and he got $7000.00 for the month they used it and INS it for over $25,000 if any thing happened to it

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

A friend of mine& his dad rented a 30's plymouth & a early 50's Buick out....they didn't store them as promised and did major damage to the original paint on the plymouth....they regretted every minute of it

d) Somewhere is a hyundai board cryin over the car that got hit
e) yeah, the song sucks.

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

I bet the truck was only scratched. It was a nice beater. When a truck like that hits a Japcan then the truck is usually fine.

think about the metal thinkness.

Pause the video, the truck is fubard pretty good.
It doesn't take much at all to bend the frame on thes. The bumper is bolted directly to the frame, no shock absorbers of any kind.

Re: tv destroyed a c10.

I was flipping through the channels and ran across a new Justin Timberlake video ( I swear, I was just channel flipping) and in that video they flipped a mid year Corvette. Sickening.
