Brake light wont go off?
We just did the brakes on the 72, and we bled the whole system starting at the farthest wheel and so forth. The brake lighe is on in the dash. It is hooked to the porportioning valve. Can it be reset? or whats my next corse of action?

Re: Brake light wont go off?
try stomping on the pedal real hard.... like you're doin 100 MPH and a moose jumps in front of you. That's how you reset the piston in the proportioning valve.

Re: Brake light wont go off?
Sorry Jim,I hit "edit" instead of "quote" and posted this (v) in your thread. All fixed now.
I`d imagine if you`re going 100 mph it would mostlikely be running. Then again, could be a mountainside and that`s why the moose didn`t hear you coming. Nah,just funnin`.I`d do it running to pressurize(depressurize?I`m confused)the booster and have full pedal pressure. Try this and go from there.

Re: Brake light wont go off?
I just did re-did my brakes the other day, and had the same thing happen. Do as LHM suggested, and all should be well.

Re: Brake light wont go off?
RIGHT ON LONGHORN!!! I wonder if the fluid coming out of the rear wheels is more of a trickle than the gush that the fronts have? My bet is that is true. Do what Longhorn suggests, and then try and bleed the brakes again. I would hope there would be more pressure coming from the rear wheel cylinders after the Longhorn stomp. huumm, wonder if I just created a new dance.
